Start: The track starts on Hakatere Potts Road, about 48 km west of Mount Somers. Leave Mount Somers on Ashburton Gorge Road, which becomes Hakatere Potts Road. Get Google Maps directions
Mount Sunday (Edoras) is a stunning site with expansive views over the braided Rangitata River surrounded by mountains. The hill got it name from the high country boundary riders would meet here on Sundays. Recently it was made famous as Edoras in the Lord of The Rings movie The Two Towers.
